Drastic improvements in technology have made the quarrying and fabrication of natural stone more cost effective.

Granite is one of the hardest of all natural stones, making it extremely durable it is quarried from all over the world and so many different granite colors are available from Italy, Brazil, India, Spain, France, China, and the USA.

Granite can be used indoors and outdoors. Both eye-catching and ageless, it’s available in a range of striking colors, textures and finishes that complement any decor. Granite can hold up in the most demanding situations. When used outdoors, granite’s mineralogical composition can endure freeze and thaw cycles. The diamond-like hardness of granite makes it impervious to extreme heat, ultraviolet light, acids and abrasions. However, it is somewhat porous and requires a penetrating sealer to deter stains. We use a 15 year stain protecting penetrating sealer , on all of our natural stone applications.

Care

Granite is a very durable material and for the most part is carefree, but as a natural product there are some helpful suggestions that will keep your granite looking like the day it was installed. Do not use vinegar or anything that may contain ammonia, bleach or specialty bathroom, tile or grout cleaners that may contain acids. These chemicals could have a bleaching and can effect on some of the minerals in the stone.

Do's

Do dust surfaces frequently.
Do clean surfaces with specially formulated granite cleaner.
Do thoroughly rinse and dry the surface after washing.
Do blot up spills immediately.

Dont's

Don't use vinegar, lemon juice or other cleaners containing acids.
Don't use cleaners that contain acid such as bathroom cleaners, grout cleaners or tub & tile cleaners.
Don't use abrasive leaners such as dry cleansers or soft cleansers.
